Types of Permissions in Google Drive

When sharing folders in Google Drive, you can define how other people can interact with the files. There are three categories:

  • Reader: the person can open the shared folder, but cannot comment or edit the file;
  • Commentator: the person can open the shared folder and comment on the file, but cannot edit;
  • Editor: the person can open the shared folder, comment, and edit the file.

It is worth noting that only the owner of the folder on Google Drive can manage access and sharing permissions to files. However, anyone with the title of “Editor” can freely change the contents of folders in Drive.
