How to make a collaborative post on Instagram

In recent weeks, Instagram (Android l iOS l Web) has offered, along with instabilities and bugs, many new features. And whoever thought that the wave of changes was over is wrong. Recently, the social network launched yet another resource: Collabs — or in good Portuguese, collaborative posts.

  • How to join a chain with your favorite photos in Stories
  • How to do a duo live on TikTok
  • How to choose who can see your Stories on Instagram

The tool allows a single publication to have multiple authors. Content is displayed across accounts at the same time, and best of all, all interactions on the post are counted equally on each profile. Thus, likes, shares, comments and other reactions are entirely shared by the authors.

While the feature offers huge potential for content creators, it can also be enjoyed by regular users. Here are two ideas: can you post photos with your family members or, who knows, couple records?

Collabs is a very simple and accessible resource. According to the tests of Haanga, its support includes posts in Feed and Reels. Check out, below, how to use the novelty and make collaborative posts on Instagram.

Collabs: how to make a collaborative post on Instagram

Step 1: access Instagram through the app and open the posts screen. To do so, swipe the page to the right.

Step 2: at the bottom of the screen, choose a format for the post. Remember that Collabs can only be used in Feed and Reels posts. Now, select media from your gallery or create new content. Then click “Next”.

Step 3: if you want, edit the image and, once again, select the command.

Step 4: on the next screen, tap the “Tag People” tab.

step 5: done that, select the “Invite contributor” command on the right side of the screen, just below the post preview.

Step 6: in the search field, search for an Instagram user.

Step 7: with that, your nick will be registered in the field “Collaborator”. To proceed, tap “Finish”.

Step 8: enter a description and configure the rest of the post. When finished, tap “Share” in the upper right corner of the screen. By doing so, the content will appear in your account and the tagged user will receive an invitation to participate as a co-author.

How to accept invitation to collaborative post

Step 1: If you are tagged as a contributor to a post, Instagram will send a notification to your profile. To access it, click on the heart symbol located at the top of the home page.

Step 2: look for the notice “(User) tagged you in a post” and click on it.

Step 3: below the content, tap the “Analyze” button.

Step 4: to finish, accept or decline the invitation. In the first case, the post will be “replicated” on your profile, as well as all user interactions.

Ready! Now you know about Collabs and you know how to post collaboratively on Instagram.
