Instagram (Android l iOS l Web) and Facebook (Android l iOS l Web) are getting closer and closer. Social networks, although they serve different purposes, have several functions in common. Among the fruits of this union is the possibility of finding Facebook friends on the neighboring social network — which is an excellent strategy for new accounts and, of course, for those who want to gather friends in more than one place.
Although this function is not necessarily new, it has already undergone numerous changes and currently does not even resemble previous versions. To refresh your memory, when you turned on syncing contacts, Instagram would display a list of all your Facebook friends. Through this selection, it was possible to follow them easily.
Things, however, have changed. Now, when using the function, the user signals to Instagram that he would like to find his friends on the social network. In practice, this means that the platform, when suggesting accounts to follow, will prioritize those you already have on Facebook. While the user has lost a lot of control with this change, this feature still makes it easier to search for familiar faces on the platform.
